Posted by Paul Silver
On 23rd October we had a small meeting with nine freelancers meeting in the Battle of Trafalagar pub in Brighton.
I was along for a shorter time than usual as I was getting over a cold, here’s what we talked about while I was there:
- Sharepoint – much better to work on than it used to be
- PHP Slim framework – just for APIs or for whole websites?
- Radio 4: The Artificial Human – can we keep AI out of human only spaces?
- The philosophical points of the Matrix films
- LLLMs – little Large Language Models that you can run on your computer and phone
- Is Twitter/X finally done? Another rush of people leaving
- Microsoft Copilot is rebranding as ‘Agents’
- The many tools called ‘agents’ in the early 2000s
- New local laws in Brighton affecting landlords
- Cassette players offer a hit of nostalgia, and confuse young people
- Wesley Snipes and tax fraud
- K-pop and J-pop
Thanks to everyone who came along!
