Chasing money, projects coming in and more freelancing chat – notes from 11th March 2026
Posted by Paul Silver
On the 11th March, thirteen freelancers got together in the Battle of Trafalgar pub in Brighton to talk all things self employment, tech, and any random nonsense that came up.
This is some of what we talked about:
- Chasing money
- Good news about client projects
- Good talk at WordUp Brighton for freelancers / small agencies yesterday
- Doing QA with a bad brief
- Trying being command line only on an old laptop
- Using Claude & MCP servers to investigate lots of topics
- Sell what you’re doing that is cutting edge, not what you used to do
- Emergency appendectomy = lucky to be alive!
- Getting surround sound for reasonable prices
- “8D audio” is bollocks
- Upcoming gas shortages thanks to Trump’s war
- Speed awareness course experiences
