Learning Swift, using local LLM models and more notes from 2nd September 2026
Posted by Paul Silver
On the 2nd September, twelve freelancers got together in the beer garden of the Battle of Trafalgar to talk freelancing, tech and a bunch of random stuff. Thanks very much to Haze for taking notes and making sure things went swimmingly while I was at home with a stinking cold.
Here’s some of what was talked about:
- Learning Swift
- Llmfit will figure out what models you can run locally
- Do you really trust online AI models with confidential information?
- Dealing with hacked apps and websites
- Platforms starting to tag AI generated content
- Figuring out complex workflows
- Local networking groups
- Silent Discos are a lot of fun!
- Scuba diving and sailing in Sussex
- Marketing testing on Tiktok on a massive scale
- The magic of bloody expensive Disney Parks
- Audio book services
- Altspace is coming back
- Backstop and Storybook Javascript development
- How is Andy Burnham doing?
- Getting a mortgage as a freelancer
